Climate change mitigation is a critical social responsibility which is why at NBM we
continuously invest in new technologies to reduce our carbon footprint. Energy is a
precious commodity; we are constantly looking at ways to reduce our demand.

A recent investment has been in our 520kW combined heat and power plant to supply
energy to our plant. Further to the larger investments we ensure our processes are
ran efficiently with maintenance schedules and continuous improvement
programmes.

As our industry is reliant on plastic usage, we are continuously pushing our plastic
reduction and use of recycled materials strategy.

We produce many containers with Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) materials. We have
also invested in a multi-layer Coex machine. This enables us to produce containers
with virgin material inner & outer layers, where the customer is concerned about
migration or aesthetics, whilst packing the middle layer with recycled material. This
can reduce the virgin material usage to as little as 5-10%.
